This Blows: Tourists Are Snapping Sexy Selfies With Bali’s Deadly Volcano

Over 100,000 residents of the island of Bali are evacuating after Indonesia’s disaster agency issued its highest-level warning on Monday, in response to the ash which has been spewing from Mount Agung. All of which apparently has some people asking: Does this natural disaster make my butt look big?

В понедельник уровень опасности извержения Агунга повысили до максимального. Столб дыма поднимается на высоту почти 4 км. Аэропорт закрыт. Сейчас 2 варианта развития событий: либо он постепенно успокоится, или же потечёт лава. Компетентные источники сообщают, что извержения скорее всего не избежать. По пути к рассвету думала, что это отчасти неприемлемо – фотографировать разрушающую силу, снимать извержение, ведь есть люди, которые живут "как на вулкане", и в прямом смысле этих слов. Но затем понимаешь – это стихия, она не может быть ни плохой, ни хорошей, она просто есть. А тебе в жизни выпадает шанс стать свидетелем значительного события, возможно события целой эпохи.

Ash first erupted Saturday, with eruptions intensifying the next day. Ensuing clouds of volcanic debris obscured flight paths. But hey, look how the fantastic lighting and lush landscape complimented the artful contortions of tourists.

Face masks are so hot right now, after Indonesia’s Disaster Mitigation Agency, Sutopo Purwo Nugroho, called for them on Twitter, along with fresh water and blankets to be supplied to those displaced by the volcano.

Bali’s international airport was shut down until 3pm on Wednesday due to the ash; the cancellation of 445 international flights left 59,000 residents and tourists stranded. When you are left alone in the empty resort, because tourists are scared of the volcano, and you are chilling with the jungle and refilling your energy with the magnificent view on this power of the nature. . I am just really stoked with the fact, that this is once in a lifetime opportunity to see the power of the nature from its hardest side, and that as I was wishing- the eruption started to happen as soon as I came back from Rote to Bali. . Speaking about hardest sides – everybody has a concept of volcano being a disaster. Yes, it is, for people leaving around. But I feel it differently: earth is enormous and calm for a long time, but sometimes it also needs to breath and release stress. The magmatic lava gives nourishment to the earth, so the life will continue again. Of course, from the time measurement of the human life – it looks like disaster. But comparing to the age of the planet- the nature will renew itself pretty fast. I will just pray for the people, who are evacuated of the danger zone to find their occupation also out of it. We came to this planet, and it doesn't belong to us. Mount Agung’s last major eruption in 1963 killed around 1,700 people. According to reporting by Vox, the 1963 eruption knocked down temperatures by .1 to .2 degrees Celsius and this eruption could spell a repeat. So, flaunt those bikini bods while the weather’s still nice!

Когда мы только собирались на Бали уже все новости кричали о бушующем вулкане, родители отговаривали, все вокруг веяли панику, которой я местами поддавалась Столько раз мы передумывали, но все равно возвращались к идее ехать именно сюда. Как же много я читала о сильнейших извержениях в мире, что бы знать на сколько это все опасно и как далеко могут распространиться последствия от вулкана☄️.
